Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 29, 2026

ToolsTask ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (spoiler: almost none), how we use it, and what rights you have. By using our website at https://toolstask.com, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have any questions after reading this policy, please contact us.

1. Information We Do Not Collect from Tools

ToolsTask calculators, converters, and other utilities are designed to run in your browser. We do not collect, store, or sell:

  • The data you enter into our tools (calculations, invoice details, to-do items, etc.)
  • Any record of what you calculate, convert, or generate inside a tool
  • Accounts, logins, or tool-input databases on our hosting

Every calculation, conversion, and generation happens locally on your own device. Tool inputs never leave your browser as part of using a tool.

Separately, this website uses Google Analytics for site traffic measurement, and the Contact page can send a message through a third-party form provider. Those services are described below and are not the same as transmitting your calculator inputs to us.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Some of our tools use your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences and data between visits. This information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's storage.

Specifically, we use localStorage to store:

  • Your theme preference (light or dark mode)
  • Saved company details for the Invoice Generator
  • To-Do List items
  • Other tool-specific preferences

3. Cookies and Web Beacons

ToolsTask pages do not currently include Google AdSense advertising code. If we add advertising in the future, third-party ad partners may then use cookies or similar technologies. This policy will be updated before that happens.

We do use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed). See section 6.

4. Third-Party Services

We currently use the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics — site usage measurement, as described in section 6.
  • Web3Forms — processes submissions from our Contact page so we can receive your message. If you send a message, Web3Forms and we will receive the name, email address, and message you enter. See their privacy policy for how they handle form data.
  • Content delivery networks — some tools load libraries such as Chart.js or jsPDF from public CDNs so PDF or chart features can work.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not currently run Google AdSense or other display advertising on the site.

5. How to Control Cookies

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

  • Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See your browser's help pages for instructions.
  • Google Ads Settings: Visit google.com/settings/ads to opt out of personalized Google ads.
  • About Ads: Visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
  • Your Online Choices (EU): Visit youronlinechoices.eu for EU-specific opt-out options.

Please note that blocking cookies may affect your experience on our site and other websites.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous, aggregated data about site traffic — such as the number of visitors, which pages are most popular, and how long users stay. This data does not identify individual users.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure: You can ask us to delete your data.
  • Right to restrict processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability: You can request your data in a portable format.
  • Right to object: You can object to certain uses of your data.

Depending on how you use the site, personal data may be processed as follows:

  • Google Analytics may process technical usage data (which can include IP address as handled by Google).
  • If you submit the contact form, we receive the name, email, and message you provide, via Web3Forms.

You can use the rights above for data we hold from a contact message by contacting us. For Analytics data held by Google, use Google's tools and the Analytics opt-out add-on described in section 6. We will respond to valid requests within 30 days.

8. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • The right to know what personal information is collected about you.
  • The right to know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed, and to whom.
  • The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information.
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights.

We do not sell your personal information. Contact-form messages are used only to reply to you. Google Analytics is used to understand site usage, not to sell a list of users.

9. Children's Privacy

ToolsTask is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Data Security

Tool inputs stay in your browser. Contact-form messages are processed by Web3Forms so we can read them. Google Analytics data is processed by Google according to their policies. We do not operate a database of your calculator results. Keep your browser and device updated as part of normal web security.

11. External Links

Our website may contain links to external sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.
